The Department is located in the Sports Complex, near the second gate of the college, on the outer area of the main ground. The Sports Complex is a two storied separate building, hosting indoor facilities like badminton, carrom and table tennis, along with a well-equipped gymnasium. The college has a ground, which can host a 400m. athletics track, and other field games, the basketball and volleyball courts. Students can avail of the indoor and outdoor facilities, merely by submitting their college ID Card at the reception, and signing the entry register. Selection and training of the students is undertaken, to prepare them for participation in intercollegiate, district, state, national and international competitions, conducted by the University of Mumbai, the District Sports Office, and several other recognized sports associations and educational institutions. The College provides encouragement to talented sportsperson by providing sports kits, TA and DA for attending sports competitions, and arranging for outside sponsorship, where higher expenses are incurred.

The Department, under the able guidance of the Principal, Dr. Swati Wavhal-

  • Arranges many intro-murals, to unearth hidden talent
  • Celebrates important days of Sports calendar, such as National Sports Day [August 29], International Yoga Day [June 21], Annual Sports Day [three days in the month of December]
  • Conducts special Yoga workshops, games workshops, and arranges for special visits of well-known sports personalities, to inspire and motivate the students.

It can be said with pride, that the Department of Physical Education and Sports is an ideal place for the staff and students to gain awareness of, acquire and maintain good health and physical fitness, which would go a long way in enabling them to face the rigors and demands of the competitive world.
